Trinity has always been closely allied with the City of Portsmouth, the Olde Towne neighborhood, and area churches.  Throughout the years, our members have been instrumental in organizing Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless and we continue to provide dinner and overnight accommodations for the homeless during the winter.  We also support the city-wide food pantry and serve breakfast monthly at the Oasis Social Ministry Center.

Trinity is, perhaps, best known for the Annual Children's Christmas Shoppe, which attracts hundreds of children from all over the city.  At the shoppe, members of the parish and the community-at-large provide a wide variety of affordable gifts and, under the supervision of an "elf", children are able to do their own shopping for loved ones.

Through the standing committee on Mission and Outreach, we give financial support to the national Church, the Diocese of Southern Virginia, in addition to state-wide and municipal social agencies.

The Episcopal Church Women are an active group of women who participate in parish, community, diocesan, and international causes. They are instrumental in hosting the many meals and receptions at parish functions, most notably, the Annual Parish Picnic.

Each year, the entire church works on the ECW Fall Fest and people from the community visit the many booths and stay to enjoy a fine meal.  The proceeds go to support the outreach ministry of the parish.

The St. Elizabeth Guild is formed by a group of ECW members who meet monthly for Bible study, devotions and prayer and to spiritually nurture its members.

The Brotherhood of Trinity is a growing group of dedicated men, led by Larry Peacock, always reaching out to the community and focused on mission. They provide a great service by volunteering many hours of work doing small repairs.  In addition to hard labor, the men also show off their culinary skills by providing the food for various events including the Annual Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday. If you are interested in getting involved in this ministry, you are invited to come to a meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
